When should I reset my APEX Pro?

Cycling the main power on the APEX unit deletes the stored model and allows the unit to start learning from scratch. When is this beneficial, and when is this not desirable? Answers to those questions can be found in this short clip with APEX Pro Technical Director Dr. Austin Gurley!

APEX Learns enough within the first lap of your driving to be valuable. 3-4 laps are preferred to accurately model the limit of the tires.

– Always power the unit off when moving it from car to car

– Always cycle the power between sessions when conditions are changing

– Leave the unit on IF you are 1) Autocrossing 2) not getting much track time 3) doing Time Attack or Time Trials

– The blinking blue light means the device is connected to your Apple device and has retained the last model

Hey Randy, the filter option changes the rate of the LED display. The Cone (autox) filter makes the lights display more quickly. The standard filter (Road course) is for higher speed tracks like most road courses. Don’t hesitate to email us: apex@apextrackcoach.com with any more questions!
