๐Ÿš— ๐Ÿ“น Connect GoPro to APEX Pro App: A Step-by-Step Guide

With the latest update (version 1.5.0+), the APEX Pro app now supports direct Bluetooth connections with GoPro cameras. This feature allows for automatic synchronization of driving data and video footage, enhancing post-session analysis and content creation.


Capturing Footage with an action cam like a GoPro enables a variety of positioning options that using your Phone or a dash cam style camera prevents.

๐Ÿ”ง How to Connect Your GoPro to the APEX Pro App

To utilize this feature, ensure you have the APEX Pro app version 1.5.0 or higher installed on your iOS or Android device. The app is compatible with GoPro HERO models 9 through 13.

Step-by-Step Guide:

  1. Power on your GoPro camera.
  2. Enable pairing mode on your GoPro:
    • Swipe down on the camera’s display.
    • Swipe left and tap on “Connections.”
    • Tap on “Connect Device” and select “GoPro Quik App.”
  3. Open the GoPro Quik App on your phone
    • Tap the “GoPro” tab on the botton right
    • Connect the Quik app to your GoPro
    • *This will enable your GoPro to be recognized in the APEX Pro NEW App
  4. Open the APEX Pro app on your mobile device.
  5. Navigate to the Lap Timer screen
  6. Tap the GoPro Icon at the top of the Lap Timer page
  7. Select your GoPro camera from the list of available devices.
  8. Confirm the pairing on both the GoPro and the APEX Pro app.
  9. Use this menu to view GoPro Battery %, remaining SD card storage space, and to Apply the APEX Pro recommended Bet Video settings for rendering

Once connected, the APEX Pro app will automatically start and stop video recording in sync with your driving sessions.

๐Ÿ“ฑ Getting Started

  • Consider clearing your GoPro’s SD card before each day of recording. This will make associating Video and Data files easier!
  • Make sure you have plenty of free storage space on your Phone. You will need at least 2X the size of the video file you are rendering. This means you may need more free space than you think!
  • If you have issues connecting to your GoPro via Wifi to transfer video files into the APEX Pro app, try tapping transfer media again. iPhones in particular do not like the Wifi connection, so it may fail the first or second time. However it does tend to eventually connect and enable seamless and quick transfer of video files!
  • Use the APEX Pro recommend GoPro recording settings for a good balance of quality video and quick file transfer and rendering: 1080p, 30FPS, no stabilization. Tap “enable recommended settings” in the GoPro connection interface and your GoPro will use the settings automatically
